Lots of excitement at Natures Edge Buderim last month with footings being poured for the 5 star $2.5 million leisure centre.
Home owners and staff alike were spotted peering into the Leisure Centre complex as news spread.
Site foreman Greg Henry from Henry Constructions who is managing the build has been working on excavating and steeling up the substantial footings to carry the eastern/creek side of the building.
The footings are going to carry block walls which will bring that side of the building up to floor level.
The height of the block walls is approximately 2.5 metres high and will have fully engaged piers to transfer wind loadings down into the concrete footings.
Much of the work in the next few weeks is underground and may not be instantly visible however it is on the move.
Once complete, this state of the art building will feature a 20-metre heated pool, gymnasium, 30 seat cinema, dance floor, bowling green, arts and crafts studio, function rooms and much more.
